Last year, the Democratic Party controlled Board of Aldermen (BOA) cut the budget and taxes. Can the new Republican Party controlled board cancel the Mayor's budget increase and cut even more? Should the BOA cut the city side budget, which has 8 years of fat layered-in by the Mayor? Or, should the Republicans cut the Education Budget and leave the Mayor's budget untouched? The Board of Finance is scheduled to vote on the Mayor's budget on March 16th. The BOA takes up the budget in April. Make sure to get involved. You need to get involved if you own a house or business. You need to get involved if rent because your rent is impacted by the taxes paid by your landlord. You need to be involved if you want businesses to move to the city. You need to get involved if you have children in the schools. Reply |
