The status quo is unacceptable. We've either been affected directly, know someone who has already lost or will be losing their health insurance coverage, can't afford decent health insurance for themselves, their families or their employees. All the while, the insurance companies are making record profits, increasing premiums and providing less coverage. This downward spiral must stop.

The Republicans want to "start over, slow down, make incremental changes". Many of their ideas have been incorporated into the present bill before Congress. They still refuse to reach back across the aisle to support change to a system they say needs reform.

President Obama and the Congressional Democrats are leading the way to change a health insurance system that leaves people without proper coverage and health care. We need to support them in their efforts.
